Add Cross Calculations to Charts

Add a cross calculation or a cross calculation dimension to your chart.

Note
After you add a cross calculation to a chart, you won't be able to apply thresholds to that chart.

How to Add Cross Calculations (Classic Design Experience)

In the cross calculations dimension you can create calculations such as calculated measures, restricted measures, or currency conversions.

  1. Open the Builder panel.

  2. Beside Chart Structure, select Start of the navigation path(Add Chart Components) Next navigation step Add Cross CalculationsEnd of the navigation path.

    A Cross Calculations section is added with a default dimension.

  3. To use more than one cross calculation in a chart, in the Dimensions section select Start of the navigation pathAdd Dimension Next navigation step Cross CalculationsEnd of the navigation path.

  4. In the Cross Calculations section, select Add Cross Calculation and add a calculation.

Note
Once you add the Cross Calculations section to your chart, you can't remove it. You must have Measure Values or some other dimension selected.

How to Add Cross Calculations (Optimized Design Experience)

In the cross calculations dimension you can create calculations such as calculated cross calculations, restricted cross calculations, aggregations, and so on.

  1. Open the Builder panel.

  2. Expand the Chart Add-Ons section and select Cross Calculations.

    A Cross Calculations section is added with a default dimension.

    Tip

    To remove the cross calculations section, select Start of the navigation pathChart Add-Ons Next navigation step Remove Cross CalculationsEnd of the navigation path

  3. To use more than one cross calculation in a chart, in the Dimensions section select Start of the navigation pathAdd Dimension Next navigation step Cross CalculationsEnd of the navigation path.

  4. In the Cross Calculations section, select Add Cross Calculation and add a calculation.
