Linked Dimension on Shared Hierarchies (Specifics for SAP BW)

You can link on two dimensions with active hierarchies in two different SAP BW data sources.

If both hierarchies are the same (technical ID, version, and validto are identical), a story filter or a page filter on one of the hierarchies will be dispatched directly to all the widgets of the other data source.

If the hierarchies are not the same, an additional query looks for matching hierarchy nodes or leaves. A story or page filter on one of the hierarchies will be converted to a filter containing these matching hierarchy nodes or leaves of the other hierarchy.

If the hierarchies are not the same and there are no matching hierarchy nodes or leaves, the widget will show a message saying "No matching data is available to display".
