Manage Input Tasks in the Calendar

Use the SAP Analytics Cloud calendar to keep track of your input tasks.

Input tasks can only be created in stories, but you can view the tasks and make certain changes in the calendar.

Working on Input Tasks

As assignee of an input task you'll receive a notification with a link to the input form of the story. You'll usually enter the requested data and submit your work in the input form. If you prefer to work in the calendar, you have the following options:
  • To substitute another assignee for yourself, you can add a different user: In the People section of the Details panel, under Assignees, you can select Change from the menu after clicking the arrow next to the status and select someone else to enter the data in the input form.

  • You can access the input form of the story under Work Files in the header area of the Details panel.

  • After you've finished your data entries in the input form, you can select Submit in the Details panel to complete your task.

    The input task creator will receive a notification to review your work. Your data entries will be visible to the creator after you submit your task.

  • If you'd like to turn down working on the input task, you can select Decline in the Details panel.

    The input task creator will receive a notification and can approve or reject your decision to decline the task.
    • If the creator approves, your input task is set to Canceled.

    • If the creator rejects, your input task is set to Open and you'll get a notification that your task has been reopened.

Reviewing Input Tasks

As input task creator you can review your input tasks in the calendar. The Details panel of your input task shows dates and people assigned to the task.

You can access the input form of the story under Work File in the header area of the Details panel.

Once the assignees have submitted their work, you'll see the data they entered in the input form and can either approve or reject their work:
  • In the People section of the Details panel, you'll see status SUBMITTED next to the assignee, and can select Approve from the menu after clicking the arrow next to the status.

    When all assignees complete their tasks and you approve their work, the data will be transmitted to the original story. After you've published your private version of the story, the data will be public for everyone who can see the story.

  • In the People section of the Details panel, you'll see status SUBMITTED next to the assignee, and can select Reject from the menu after clicking the arrow next to the status.

    The task will be reopened and the assignee will receive a notification to keep working on the task.

In the People section, you can change or remove assignees who haven't yet completed or canceled their task by selecting Change or Delete from the menu that appears when clicking the arrow next to each assignee's status.
