Input Controls: Single Selection Choices for Filters (Specific to SAP BW)
In your input control and filter settings, you can choose to allow the selection of both parents and their children, rather than one or the other.
The default Single Selection option in an input control allows you to include members from different levels, but you can't include both a parent and its child.
To be able to include parents and their children as selectable members, do the following:

In the input control dialog, turn on the toggle for Select individual members.

Select the specific members that you want to include.
Note
When you turn the toggle off, the selection is cleared and you will have to re-select members to use in the input control.
Tip
In the filter (or input control), you can hide the All option.
Select the filter, right-click and then select 
Show/Hide 
Select All Option
