Enable Optimized Story Experience

You have two options for converting your story to the optimized design experience:

• Convert: converts the story to use the optimized design experience.

  Allows you to continue to use the same story ID.

• Convert + Save As: Clones your story and then converts the cloned version.

  Your original story keeps its story ID and the cloned vesion has a new story ID.

1. In SAP Analytics Cloud, open an existing story.

2. Switch to Edit mode.

3. From the File menu, select Save  Convert to Optimized Design Experience.

   Note

   The dialog that appears shows the features that will be permanently lost (unsupported or deprecated features) or the blocking features that will prevent you from converting your story.

4. Choose the conversion option.

   Convert

   Convert + Save As

   A message appears notifying you that the story is being converted. After conversion is successful, a message appears and the design experience story starts to load. Note If your story has a recurring publication scheduled before the conversion, when you view or edit this publication in Calendar after the conversion, the file settings and story view selection are still from Classic View Mode. Therefore, we recommend deleting the scheduled publication and rescheduling one after the conversion.

   Provide a name for your optimized story, or accept the default suggested name. Select OK. The story is cloned, and a message appears when the cloned story is converted.

1. From the SAP Analytics Cloud Home screen, select Stories.

2. Select either a Responsive or Canvas page.

3. In the Select Design Mode Type dialog, select Optimized Design Experience, and then click Create.

The Optimized Design Experience dashboard opens, and you can start adding visualizations.

1. In SAP Analytics Cloud, open an existing story.

2. Switch to Edit mode.

3. From the File menu, do one of the following actions.

   • Use the Save menu: select (Save)  Enable Optimized View Mode.

   • Use the Story Details:

     1. Select (Edit Story)  Story Details.

     2. In the View Time Optimization section, select Enable optimized mode.

     3. To save your changes, select Save.

4. To save your story, from the file menu select (Save)  Save.

You'll see a dialog notifying you that the story is being optimized. If the optimization is successful, you are notified that the story has been saved.

However, if the story can't be optimized, or if some items can't be included, a warning message is displayed explaining the details. Review the details in the warning and, if possible, resolve the issues.
