Modify Teams

You can modify teams in SAP Analytics Cloud by using the controls on the Teams page. When teams change, you can add or delete team members or change its description. If the team is no longer needed, you can delete it.

Teams can be modified or deleted on the Teams page.

Who does this apply to?

  • System administrators with the Update and Delete permissions for Team.

Note
If a team member is deactivated, the user is not removed from the team, but their status will be indicated in the team dialog. They can be activated by a system administrator. For more information, see Modify Users.

Edit a Team

Context

If the purpose of a team has changed, you can update its description. You can also add or delete members from a team.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation, go to Start of the navigation path Security Next navigation step  TeamsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Select an existing team to open the Edit Team dialog.
  3. Change the team description, select (Add member) to add new users, or select users to (Delete) remove them from the team.
  4. Select Save.

Results

All changes are available for all users immediately. To see the changes, each user might need to refresh their system. If you deleted a user from a team, that user is not deleted from SAP Analytics Cloud. Depending on what roles they have been assigned, they may no longer have access to the folders or objects shared between team members. For more information on roles, see Understand Licenses, Roles, and Permissions.

Note

When a user is removed from a team, they may no longer belong to a workspace if they don't belong to any teams that are assigned to the workspace. As a result, they can't access the content from that workspace. In situations where content from one workspace depends on content from a different workspace, the user may no longer have access to folders or objects shared between different teams. For example, User 1 is a member on a team that is assigned to Workspace A, but was deleted from all teams that are assigned to Workspace B. If a story in Workspace A uses a model from Workspace B, User 1 can view the story. However, the story will show a message that User 1 cannot access the model.

Also, any pending file request for the user to access to content for the workspace are automatically deleted. In the example, any files request for User 1 for content in Workspace B are automatically deleted.

Delete a Team

Context

When a team is no longer needed, you can delete it.

Note

You'll see a warning message if your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant has already exceeded the license limits. In some cases you'll be restricted from deleting a team if you've reached the maximum license usage limit. See, Manage License Usage Limits.

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation, go to Start of the navigation path Security Next navigation step  TeamsEnd of the navigation path.
  2. Choose existing teams, and select (Delete) to delete them.

Results

The team is deleted. Deleting a team does not delete users from SAP Analytics Cloud. Depending on what roles the users may have been assigned, they may no longer have access to the folders or objects formerly shared between team members. For more information on roles, see Understand Licenses, Roles, and Permissions.

Note

The users may no longer belong to a workspace if they don't belong to any teams that are assigned to the workspace. As a result, they can't access the content from that workspace. In situations where content from one workspace depends on content from a different workspace, the users may no longer have access to folders or objects shared between different teams. Also, any pending file request for users to access to content for the workspace are automatically deleted.
