Add Missing Rates in a Currency Table
As planning users work with model data in stories, they may try to analyze currency data that depends on rates that do not exist in the rate table.
Context
For example, if a user creates a Forecast version in a story that uses currency conversion, but the currency table only has rates that apply to the Actuals and Budget versions, the forecast data cannot be converted.
- On Neo tenants, you add missing rates using the right panel within the Modeler. There is no search functionality.
- On Cloud Foundry tenants, you add missing rates using a dedicated dialog. There is also a search functionality to help you look for missing rates and add them quickly to the rate table.
When working with currency conversion in the Calculations space, the application lets you know in the calculation preview area if rates are missing in a given rate table. When that’s the case, an Add missing rates link is displayed to take you straight to the rate table. The same link is also displayed in stories. This link takes you to the Add Missing Rates panel on Neo tenants, or Add Missing Rates dialog on Cloud Foundry tenants.
The Add Missing Rates dialog helps you search for missing rates and add exchange rates quickly. Depending on the number of rates and currency combinations in the table, it can be useful to run a quick search to look for missing rates, especially if the rate table has a large number or rates.
For classic account models, any currency you add to a rate table applies to every measure in the table. The new model type however offers more flexibility, and allows you to select the base measure you would like to maintain. As a result, the Add Missing Rates panel can be slighty different depending on the model type you're working with.
Conversion Errors List
- On Cloud Foundry tenants, select Conversion Errors in the workspace dropdown in the toolbar.
- On Neo tenants, click the Conversion Errors tab.
If the error occurred in a public version, you can select Analyze next to the error to add the rate using the Add Missing Rates panel.
