Transfer the System Owner Role

In SAP Analytics Cloud, the system owner has complete access to all areas of the system and is the user who performs the majority of system maintenance tasks. There must always be one user who is assigned the system owner role, but you can have more as needed.

You might want to transfer the system owner role if the current system owner leaves the organization or changes their job role. Also, only the current system owner or a user with full administrative privilege can transfer the system owner role to another user.

Who does this apply to?

  • System administrators with the Update permission for System Information.

  • By default, this permission is in the Admin, BI Admin, System Owner, and BI System Owner roles.

Note
If you only have one license for SAP Analytics Cloud, the system owner role can’t be transferred.

You'll see a warning message if your SAP Analytics Cloud tenant has already exceeded the license limits. When you've reached the maximum license usage limit and the previous system owner can't be reassigned another role, you'll be restricted from transferring the system owner role. Transferring the System Owner Role

Procedure

  1. From the side navigation, select Start of the navigation path Security Next navigation step  UsersEnd of the navigation path, and select the user you want to assign the system owner role to.
  2. Select (Assign as System Owner).
  3. In the Transfer System Owner Role dialog, under New Role, select to select a role.

    You can assign more than one role to the previous system owner.

  4. Select OK.

Results

The user you selected is assigned to the system owner role, and the previous owner is assigned to the role you selected.
