Request Roles

To be able to perform tasks on content, such as view, create, or edit files, you must be assigned a role that provides you with permission to access and use those features. If you can’t perform certain tasks, you can request a role.

Note

Roles cannot be requested if you are using a trial account.

If you're an administrator, you can assign roles directly to the individual users or indirectly to users via teams. For more information, see Assign Roles to Users and Teams

Requesting a Role

Procedure

  1. Log into SAP Analytics Cloud.
  2. In the upper-right corner, select your profile image and then select Request Roles.

    If you have not uploaded a personal image, the profile image is the default image.

  3. In the Role Configuration dialog, select they type of role you want to request:
    • Default Roles are roles that automatically assigned to you if you are not assigned any other role.

      Note

      Default roles are set up by the administrator. For more information, see Create Roles and Assign Roles to Users and Teams.

    • Self Service Roles are roles that the administrator has allowed users to request.

  4. Select the roles you need.
  5. (Optional) In the Comment box, you can provide additional information. For example, explain why you need the selected roles.
  6. Select Send Request.

Results

The request is added to a queue that the administrator or approver will review and then approve or reject it.
