Enable Translation in a Model

You can translate the metadata of a model.

Context

See the following topics for information about translating model metadata, the Translator role, the Translation Dashboard, and translation tasks that you can perform there.

When you enable a model for translation, the following model metadata is translated, both for live data models and import data models:
  • Model description,
  • Dimension descriptions (for live connections, the dimension descriptions are taken from the live data source),
  • Dimension property descriptions,
  • Dimension hierarchy descriptions,
  • Variable descriptions.
The translation of measure descriptions is not supported yet.
Note
Within the Modeler, the content of the model will still be displayed in the default language set in the model's preferences. Translations are only visible in stories and in the file repository.

  2. Open the model you want to have translated.
