Using Tuple Filters in Linked Analysis

You have two tables you want to align with each other. Filtering in one of the widgets causes filtering in the other widget as well.

Prerequisites

Linked analysis enables you to align two widgets with the same data model. The key needs to be the same to make the synchronization possible.

Procedure

  1. Select one of the table widgets. Your selection will be the driver for the linked analysis.
  2. From the (More Actions) menu select (Linked Analysis).

    The Linked Analysis panel is displayed.

  3. In the designer panel, select Only selected widgets and Filter on data point selection. Then select the widgets you want to connect to.
  4. Apply the changes.
  5. Select the data you want to filter within the receiver table. Right-click one of the selected cells and choose the filter option. Only your selected rows are visible now.
  6. Click the Filter token to visualize the filter and select Applies filter conditions to in order to display the detailed filter conditions.
  7. Click OK to close the pop-up.
  8. Now select the driver widget and choose the rows you want to filter. You see them filtered in the receiver widget immediately.
  9. Click the filter token in the receiver widget now. In the drop-down list, you see the Local filter as well as the Linked Analysis filter.
    Note

    A linked analysis filter is an additional filter. The local filter of a widget stays.

  10. Select the Linked Analysis filter. Click the Filter token to visualize the filter and select Applies filter conditions to in order to display the detailed filter conditions.
  11. Click Cancel to close the pop-up.
